Finally got in the mood to work on it because I took a short break working on another scan. I am also starting to get back to 7+ hours of sleep, fuck yeah! I hope I don't jynx myself.
It feels good. Especially in this cold weather where hot showers feel x5 better due to temperature change.
I don't know the exact % completion on this wallpaper since I am still wondering what to do for the background. Not sure if I should extend the scan's background or go with a plain light background to make the character stand out more.
Right now I got done with the first round of shading. Which is basic shading and get the feel of the scan. I started the second round of shading about 2 days ago which is adding more vectors and gradients to have things blend in more subtly and look less flat. Also on the second round of shading I enhance the color a bit to make it pop out more. I just noticed how dull my coloring was in the first round.

youlol. I surprised myself too actually. When I looked back at a couple of my other wallpapers (especially Sky Shroud) I said, "Ewww... I made that?" It was pretty much almost 2 years ago as you said and I had no idea what I was on or thinking at that time, haha. All I remember is that I was struggling trying to vector that scan for some reason and just decided to release it anyway even though I knew it wasn't that good. I specifically suck at backgrounds that's why it's some lame filter.

that's so mean saying that to your own work, it isnt that bad. one have to try to love the crapwork one makes >D like i should b talkinglol i'm up to chap 3, wow....i just cant really relate the spiky hair-ness with that girl lying on the ice

Well from what I've seen it looks pretty tough and it's not
done alot. The good thing is that artist that do make it are really
awesome at it. I don't really know the definition of it, I just look at
a wall and when I see multiple lines or like Akai Yuki, it always has that glossy look.

You're welcomed, it's great piece. I love the most this type of vectors that look painted but they aren't( I've been aiming to do this type of vectors and miserably failed). So that's how you did it! I thought you only used the eraser on lower opacity, and I actually tried it on something I've been working But I didn't got the same result obviously. Hm never thought of gradients. I learned something new now, thanks! Can't way to try it.
